La Costa Film Festival + Sip & Savor Gala

There is no doubt that last nights event was a success! The La Costa Film Festival kicked off 2015 with the Sip & Savor Gala + ‘All in Time’ Kick Off Opening Night on Thursday, September 10th. As I am quite the enthusiast when it comes to my city, I was honored to be in attendance. The La Costa Film Festival is an event combining a passion for art and culture, into one annual and memorable experience for the San Diego County community. Comprised of 47 films, San Diego local restaurants, panel discussions and soirees, this is an event you should not miss.

{The La Costa Film Festival is being hosted at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa – Which is an absolutely beautiful venue}

One of my all time favorite aspects about San Diego, is the divine love and appreciation for our community. With events such as this, I like to take a little extra time away from mingling to enjoy the vendors who take time out of their day, to bring delicious food and beverages to my fingertips.

A shoutout goes to Twenty/20 Grill located in Carlsbad, CA for this exquisite Duck Confit Meatball with Yeasted Waffle & Orange Marmalade. It is simply astonishing how chefs can take foods from different ends of the spectrum, and create a delicacy full of flavor.

{Lets Cheers!}

 Say hello to the Southwestern Gimlet from Old Harbor Distilling Co.

{I am noticing a pattern – I tend to find a new favorite beverage each event I attend}

The secret? Take Old Harbor’s San Miguel Southwestern Gin and mix with Lime Juice and Simple Syrup. As the days are running hot here in San Diego, this is a refreshing and flavorful drink to take the edge off of the heat. Might I add that the bottle is simply divine and I plan on buying it at my nearest Whole Foods soon!
