The Connection Between Music & Art + My Current Playlist

Music plays a significance in my life as both my creativity and my escape. It is a way for me to enter a world full of artists who harmonize the same thoughts and emotions as my own.

When it comes to Love and Mimosas, I constantly have this vision in my head that I try to portray in the content I produce. I’ve noticed that the more time and dedication I put into my blog, a natural attraction to the music I listen to is created. This attraction I believe reveals ideas (that image) in a clearer way, for both myself and hopefully my readers. If you were to sit down with your favorite artist(s) and ask how they created their masterpieces or their process in visualizing new pieces of art, they would tell you that works of art stem from the senses combining site, sound, touch, and emotion. All of which point to the soul.

That is how music plays a big role in my life. It is my love of words filled with vision and emotion, combined with sound.

Lately when I am brainstorming ideas, focusing on work or relaxing at home, there have been four artists whose style of music I gravitate to.

Aurora is an eccentric and unique woman, which is why I can appreciate her music. I was first drawn to the music itself, but I took the time to study more into her style of music, and a sense of amazement was created. Her music and videos create a story that is whimsical (very editorial) and chic. This is the perfect music for the California sunny days with my convertible top down in the car.

Banks lyrics and sound is the perfect definition of raw. Her style is edgy (can also be editorial), but it is real. I find myself listening to her when I am feeling bold as her sound and lyrics are strong. From what I take away from her lyrics is that you can grasp emotion revolving around love and lust. All in which trigger my fancy. Put your favorite feisty little black dress on while listen to Banks before heading out for a night on the town!

The Broods have an airy and catchy sound to them. I find their music to be very relaxing. It is great feel good music while working or when writing and designing for Love and Mimosas. Speaking of mimosas, this is the perfect Sunday brunch tunes. Salut!

Need a cure for the “Case of the Mondays”? Caught A Ghost does the trick, seriously. The sound is a great way to get in the zone and shake the Monday blues and bring a week full of positive vibes.

What types of music or artists bring out your creative side?

Okay, it’s like you were going through my playlist when you wrote this. Add Meg Myers and we’re music twins. 😉
