Pipdig Review: Blog & Website Design

I would like to introduce the new design for Love and Mimosas!

In May of 2015, after a year of blogging on a standard WordPress.com platform, I made the smart decision to migrate to a self-hosted site. During that transition, I discovered Pipdig, the lovely maker of the design I have recently fell in love with. To express my new found admiration for this design, I thought that I would write up a fancy little review for you!

Who is Pipdig?

Pipdig is an internet based resource for professional, pre-made & custom Blogger & WordPress website designs. If I had to choose only one reason why I decided to purchase a Pipdig design, it would be the simplicity of the integration process to install the design on my site. When I started blogging two years ago, I had absolutely no clue how to create a functioning website or to even manage it for that matter. For the templates, Pipdig has clear instructions on their site as to how to upload the template, along with how to customize of the header, widgets, post style, color options, the menu(s), and more.

Love and Mimosas & Pipdig

Now to talk about my history with Pipdig… The first design from Pipdig I purchased was ‘Style & Light‘:

This was a great starting point to the design of my site, and I highly recommend this template for bloggers who are just starting out.

I had the ‘Style & Light’ design for a year, and unfortunately, I ran into a few discrepancies in the beginning. One of the plugins that is required for the template crashed my site at least 3 times within a few months. With that being said, Pipdig has always provided me with fantastic customer service and was able to fix the issue right away. I was even reimbursed for the inconvenience. It is rare to find a company to take care of their clients like that, which enticed my return for an upgraded design.

The New Design

The new design is the ‘Aquae‘ template. Minimalistic & Chic… Exactly what I was looking for! I adore the collage display as it keeps the homepage clean and simple, and it allows you to move the widgets to the bottom of the page. This design makes my site look more like a real professional website, rather than just a blog. If you would like to see more, head on over to the homepage and click around to take a further look into the design. Be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

If you would like to know more about my experience with Pipdig, do not hesitate to reach out to me! Also note that this review was not requested by Pipdig and I am not receiving any type of reward to writing it. This review is solely based on my honest opinion about the amazing product and customer service they offer!

With Love,

    Hi Ashley,

Thanks for the great review! I’m interested in downloading a Pipdig template. I’m curious, did you download and install your templates yourself, or did you sign up for the monthly service to have them set it up for you? I don’t want to sign up for a monthly fee (aside from my host/domain name) and I want to make sure it’s doable without their help. Thank you!

Hi Sarah! Thank you for your comment! I did the install by myself. When the zip file for the template from Pipdig is emailed to you, there are a set of instructions on how to upload it to your site. Super simple! If you need help, feel free to email me!

I use pipdig templates for both of my blogs too (MINIM and Equinox). They look great and their customer service is excellent. Love the design you chose, it’s one of my favorites. And it does look super professional.

I was in-between Aquae and Equinox, which looks fantastic on your site btw! What is your other blog?

My pictures always stink so mine wouldn’t make such a pretty collage! I am debating on changing my theme, It is such a challenge to decide what looks professional!

Honestly, that’s how I still feel about my pictures and this template but overall, I think it dresses it up and makes it look more unique. There are so many blogs out there with photos that are so uniform, that it is almost unrealistic. The more creative and unique your photos and content are, the more you will stand out in my opinion! 🙂

Hi I am really struggling with the whole process tbh. I have a wordpress blog and have recently got a domain name and am self hosted on blue host, I have seen a pipdig theme I want but don’t know if there is anything else I need/have to buy in order to get said theme and free migration – my blog is careergirlsite.wordpress.com

    Hello Nirvana
I also have a self-hosted blog. All I did after paying my hosting supplier was that I bought a design from Pipdig and Phil emailed the Pipdig design pack to me, which I’ve installed myself. If you struggle, just ask Phil for support, he is always there to answer your queries. So far I have not been disappointed with his service. Good service is very important to me and you can count on Phil. I bought Style and Light (I removed the diamond) and i’m happy with it. And there is nothing else to buy as far as I’m concerned.
