Mondays as we know are quite challenging. What I personally find most difficult is getting back into my normal routine for the week. To make the transition easier, I created a few tips to follow each morning, especially Monday mornings, to start the week with ease.
6 Cures for the “Case of the Mondays”
Decompress Sunday Night
Set aside time for yourself the night before. For me, I tend to decompress by planning new articles and posts for loveandmimosas.com, catch up on reading, listen to music, pop in a good movie, or simply just relax. The goal is to have a clear mind. Keep yourself from focusing on the thought of the next day. I personally find I am able to sleep better which of course, makes a surprising difference the following morning.
+Stimulate The Mind+
The mind is a powerful tool. Refrain from dwelling on all the deadlines you have for the week as soon as you wake up. Focus your mindset on positive predictions. For example… while I get ready (mainly in the shower), I like to acknowledge that I am lucky and thankful to be where I am today. Starting the morning with a positive thought can work wonders for days. We all have that checklist that runs through our minds constantly when it comes to our responsibilities for the week. Focus on the tasks at hand, the goals you have for those tasks, and how you are going to complete them with ease.
It’s about believing that failure is not an option. Repeat after me.. “I CAN and WILL succeed this week. I am AMAZING! I am PERFECTION!”
+Revitalize The Body+
Replenish your body with nutrients. Maintaining a healthy diet, especially after the weekends, is crucial. If you don’t have time to eat a full breakfast, be sure to grab a light snack such as a power bar or even a bag of oatmeal. Your body needs sustenance to fuel energy throughout the day.
Aside from food, I am an avid coffee lover. I usually drink about 1-2 cups of coffee in the early morning to early afternoon, then switch to water for the remainder of the work day. When drinking caffeine, it is important to stay hydrated.

When you look good, you feel good. Aim to wear your favorite garments on Mondays and Fridays: Mondays to welcome the week with a bang! and Fridays to once again welcome the fabulous weekend.
+Soothe The Soul+
Listen to your favorite jams while getting ready or during your drive to work. Personally, music can easily affect my mood on any given day.. and Spotify is a fantastic tool. Not only can you make your own playlists with tracks that give you an extra boost… they have customized playlists that were made with tracks for certain moods, types of day, etc. Talk about convenient!
Although I am located by the front door and people can see me dancing in my chair.. at least I have a smile on my face.
+Love What You Do+
It is inevitable that we will run into complications at work, school, etc. At the end of the day, don’t let annoyances effect you. Love what you do and continue to doing what you love to do. Whether it is your job or hobbies, having passion for the biggest aspects of your life, is what truly will keep you going.
