The Secret to Becoming a Lifestyle Blogger

Over the last few years, blogging has become a fully integrated part of my life. From sharing insightful thoughts that cross my mind to networking with iconic individuals, I blog for just about everything! It provides me with the ability to expand the life of my creative mind for the world to see! As a writer, I use blogging heavily to expand the exposure of my writing, as well as my lifestyle. Blogging is a full-time job in itself outside of my day job! It may sound absurd, but to us bloggers, we live for it! You may wonder how do we make it work and I’ll let you in on a little personal secret…

The Secret to Becoming a Lifestyle Blogger is Passion!

“Success is driven by passion, and passion is the key to success”

As I am a content creator, blogging is a requirement. It is a way for me to connect the reader to myself as the writer. It adds a more personal insight as to why I express my passion for writing, and allows me to build a relationship with the reader digitally. If the reader can not sense the passion behind my writing, the writing holds no purpose… no meaning. It is about creating a relationship between the reader and the writing, and without passion, that relationship will not flourish.

All success stories are driven by passion, and blogging should only be utilize if it stems from passion. Not only will it attract others to your blog, but it will allow the ideas for content & posts to come naturally. Just as with any type of relationship, when blogging starts to feel forced, the success will not follow.

The Most Common Mistake of Blogging

The most common mistake that is made about blogging is the psychology behind it all. We believe that by having a huge following is the ultimate goal to becoming a successful blogger or having a successful blog. If you strictly focus on your number of followers, you are allowing yourself room for disappointment which will ultimately destroy your blog. Taking joy and pride in what you do, is the real reason why your blog will become successful.

How to Keep Your Passion for Blogging Alive

Focus on the right reasons as to why you wanted to start blogging in the first place. Did you find that you have innovative ideas for content that you believe will change the image of blogging? Make your number one priority the execution of those ideas and the following will eventually pour in. Personally, I follow blogs that have depth to their writing or posts. I search for those who have a unique “voice” in their writing similar to mine or a new image/mold to an existing photo idea. Success does not stem from trying to be someone else other than yourself.

I have been blogging actively for over two years and what an adventure it has been. I have had my ups along with the downs, but I always aim to get myself back on track when those downs arrive. I focus on the number one reason as to why I started blogging in the first place and that is my love for writing. If you need help getting your thoughts and ideas together, simply write them out and re-analyze them or record them out loud. Go back and revisit those ideas as necessary, and the passion will again resonant within you.

The success of a blogger shouldn’t be measured in dollars and cents – but instead by impact. Even if it’s only one person – if you’ve made a difference with your writing, you are doing it right! Beautiful piece!

Thanks for the reminder. I love to write and am a new blogger. Sometimes I get discouraged when I look at other blogger’s pages/numbers who are more successful. Then I remember that I’m new and have so much to learn! You have an amazing looking page. Great post!

Very nice post. I’ve heard the mantra “Produce quality content, and they will read.” A play on the “If you build it, they will come” saying. I’m part of a blogging group that has the mindset of subscribers will come when they’re ready, don’t force it.
